Legian Beach Hotel


In the Balinese language, the word 'Legian' means anything sweet, pleasant, and delightful to the senses. So will be your experience at the Legian Beach Hotel, where our friendly staff will do everything they can to ensure that your holiday is not only delightful, but also very special and memorable. Located absolute beachfront, with a wide range of facilities and leisure options, the Legian Beach Hotel embraces families, honeymooners and business travelers. The 118 single-storey cottages and 100 guest rooms, including 23 family rooms and 5 rooms that cater for disabled travelers, are set amid a landscaped tropical oasis dotted with coconut palms, shady trees, and sweet-scented flowers. The traditional architecture utilizeslocal materials from Bali and neighboring Indonesian islands, red tiled roofs merge with romantic alang alang thatch, while breezy, lazy gazebos melt into the natural beauty. The vista of the dramatic coastline and the rolling surf is spectacular, while the fiery sunsets viewed from here are the best in Bali.

Room & Suites

Superior Rooms
All of our Superior Rooms, complete with a choice of king size or twin beds, are located within the Main Building, the rooms on the west and south side of the hotel enjoy tropical garden views. Each air-conditioned room is equipped with a mini-bar/fridge, music, a colour satellite television with in-house movies, a personal safe deposit box, tea & coffee making facilities, IDD telephone, and a terrace or balcony. Each of the en-suite marble bathrooms features a bathtub with a shower over the bath, a hairdryer, and hot & cold water.

Handicapped Friendly Rooms
Our 5 handicapped-friendly rooms are located on the ground floor, with the same facilities as the Superior Rooms, in addition to wheelchair access and spacious floor areas for wheelchair manoeuvrability. All of the bathrooms feature wheel-in access, handheld shower hoses, and steel handrails positioned beside the toilet and beside the shower. All feature wide doors, non-slip tiles and accessible light switches.

Deluxe Garden Bungalow
Each of our Deluxe Garden Bungalow is comprised of either 2 adjoining rooms or 3 interconnecting rooms, ideal for families, groups, or friends travelling together. Each self-contained room features the same private facilities as the Superior Rooms, complete with en-suite bathroom, and is rented individually per room and not per Cottages/bungalow. There is also the additional provision of a VCD/DVD player in each room. Located in the mid section of the hotel, between the Main Building and the Deluxe Beach Bungalow, most of the Deluxe Garden Bungalow have a garden view and each boasts a private terrace.

Deluxe Beach Bungalow
Each of our Deluxe Beach Bungalow is comprised of 3 interconnecting rooms, ideal for families, groups, or friends travelling together. Each self-contained room features the same private facilities as the Superior Rooms, complete with en-suite bathroom, and is rented individually per room and not per bungalow. There is also the additional provision of a VCD/DVD player in each room. The 3 interconnecting rooms are situated next to each other, side by side, with a double room in the middle and twin rooms on either side. Most of the Deluxe Beach Bungalow are located on the beach-front, some with a view of the beach and others with a view of the garden or the pool, each boasts a private terrace overlooking the beachfront, gardens, offering a quiet and peaceful atmosphere conducive to a relaxing holiday.

Superior Family Room
Our Superior Family Rooms can accommodate up to a maximum of 4 persons, and are comprised of a large room divided by a wall partition to create 2 interconnecting rooms linked by a sliding door. Please note that no extra bed can be added to this type of room. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with bathtub and a shower over the bath. Some rooms have a separate shower, and all of the other facilities are the same as the Superior Rooms. The Superior Family Rooms are situated on the ground floor of the Main Building, close to the entrance of the hotel.

Deluxe Family Room

The Deluxe Family Room features a split level design with a loft room on the upper level and another room on the lower level, and therefore enough space to accommodate extra beds, if required. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with bathtub and a shower over the bath. Some rooms have a separate shower, and all of the other facilities are the same as the Superior Family Rooms. All of the Deluxe Family Rooms are situated on the upper floor of the Main Building, close to the entrance of the hotel.

Swimming Pool
Swimming Pools Two enticing swimming pools, each with an adjoining kids’ pool, provide the perfect setting to laze and relax. Both pools are located immediately adjacent to the beach in our lovely tropical gardens. The poolside experience also includes the indulgence of a swim-up bar where you can enjoy cool tropical cocktails, while being serenaded by the tranquil sounds of running water spouting from whimsical hand-carved statues

Sports Facilities
If you are feeling energetic, you will enjoy our fully equipped fitness centre, flood-lit tennis court, squash court, and table-tennis facilities.

Ombak Legian Store & Surf Academy
Bali is one of the great surfing Meccas of the world, offering perfect conditions to suit all levels. If you would like to experience the thrill of the waves and learn to surf, you can visit Ombak Legian Store & Surf Academy, accredited by the Australian Academy of Surfing Instructors (ASI), and located in front of our Garden Pool facing towards the beach.Lessons take place in front of the hotel on Legian Beach, where the conditions are often perfect for beginners with mellow beach breaks. The Academy offers 2-hour beginner lessons, in which students will learn about water safety, surf awareness, surf etiquette, board handling, and environmental awareness, followed by the basic art of paddling, reading the waves, catching the waves, and riding the waves, students can expect to be standing up on their boards by the end of their first lesson. The academy supplies safe soft surf boards for beginners, rash shirts and sunscreen; US $50,000 insurance cover is also available. The professional instructors – trained and accredited by ASI – are also qualified in lifesaving, resuscitation and first aid. The classes are small and personalised, with a choice of lessons to suit varied levels of interest and skill. Before entering the water, students can enjoy a cool, shady and tranquil outdoor setting for the theory session. Kids’ only classes are also available.
Cooking Class
Legian Beach Hotel invites you to join our Cooking Class in Lais Indonesian Specialty Restaurant. The classes explore the culinary secrets of Indonesian cuisine, together with the flavours, ingredients, and exotic herbs and spices that go into each dish. The lessons are hosted by our Sous Chef, Wayan Wastika, and begin at 7.30 a.m. so that you will have the opportunity to experience the sights, sounds, atmosphere and aromas of Legian traditional market, before actively helping to prepare and cook the following dishes:

  • Gerangasem Soup (Fish Soup)
  • Sate Lilit Ikan (Traditional Balinese Sate)
  • Sambal Goreng Cumi-Cumi dan Udang (Stir Fried Calamari & Prawn in Spices)
  • Kue Dadar (Pancake)
Restaurants & Dining
Bale Banjar Restaurant

Start with a ‘Florida Cocktail’ and progress to a ‘Mini Rijstaffel’ for two, or a ‘Sambal Goreng’ with calamari and prawns. Also on offer are delectable chicken dishes such as the ‘Chicken Palace Sze Chuan’, ‘Chicken in Lemongrass’, and ‘Chicken in Boursin Cheese Sauce’. Or enjoy fresh fish, mixed seafood platter, imported steaks, and wicked desserts such as ‘Tulip Surprise’ and ‘Strawberry Bavaroise Cake’, to the accompaniment of live music and song by local performers.The restaurant is open from 07.00 am until 11.00 pm and the bar is open from 11.00 am until 02.00 am. Ocean Terrace is an alfresco dining area that serves the same menu; it is open for dinner during the dry season; and when Ocean Terrace is open, Bale Banjar is closed.
Bais Restaurant
Lais Restaurant will take you on a journey through the Indonesian archipelago with an exciting menu of local delicacies and tempting desserts, highlighting the delights of our traditional cuisine. Although Indonesian food is spicy, there is still plenty of choice to suit everyone’s palate.


Ole Ocean View Patio
Ole Ocean View Patio is our newest food & beverage outlet; it opened in October 2005, and is situated directly beside the pool offering spectacular views of the beach and the rolling surf of the Indian Ocean. Thirty-six luxurious, deeply cushioned sunloungers shaded by large umbrellas, are combined with waiter service and a fine collection of upbeat house, R&B and lounge club music, to create a stylish and sumptuous alfresco hangout. This is a great place to lie back, chill out and enjoy a freshly squeezed fruit juice, a superb cappuccino, a welcome snack, or an ice cold beer, while sunbathing, reading a book, or gazing at the surfers riding the waves. Open from 01.00 pm until 12 midnight, the totally tropical Ole Ocean View patio is also the spot where folks like to gather in the late afternoon with an exotic island cocktail, to watch the general hubbub of activity on the beach, while being spellbound by yet another of those legendary Balinese sunsets.


Gino's Pasta & Pizza Corner

Savour the mouthwatering Mediterranean flavours of Gino's pasta & pizza corner. This alfresco daytime restaurant is open from 12.00 a.m. to 04.00 p.m. presenting diners with a wonderful view of the beach and the chance to enjoy some of the best Italian food in town. Check out the generous portions of garden fresh salads, appetizing soups, innovative pasta dishes, and authentic thin crust pizzas with a wide choice of delicious toppings capped with oodles of mozzarella cheese.
The Spa
